⭐︎ガーネットは1月の誕生石です。
多くの国で共通して1月の誕生石とされており、新しい年の始まりを象徴する宝石として古くから親しまれてきました。ガーネットという名前は、ラテン語で「種子」を意味する granatus に由来するといわれています。これは、ザクロの実のような深い赤色の結晶が、果実の粒を思わせることから名付けられました。和名では「柘榴石（ざくろいし）」と呼ばれています。ガーネットの宝石言葉は「真実」「友愛」「不変の愛」。

The name “garnet” is said to derive from the Latin word granatus, meaning “seed.” This name was given because the deep red crystals resemble the seeds of a pomegranate. In Japanese, it is called “Zakuroseki” (柘榴石), literally meaning “pomegranate stone.”
